Last 30 days - Next 30 days
The photo is Dill's Tavern a few years back. Did you know that is where it all began...our first gig?
Wow! What a month. Since our last post about 30 days ago, we played:
A Wedding in PA
A European Festival in VA
Dill's Tavern
A Wedding in the Arts Club of Washington, DC
On Penn Live, live-streaming on their Face Book Page
Ten 45-minute sets at the National Apple Harvest Festival
For 1,000 Boy Scouts in Hidden Valley
A Benefit for the family of Bill Wolfe
Music Makers at Gallery 50 for Destination Arts
Reid's Cider House in Gettysburg
The next 30 days we:
Play November 11th at Reid's Cider House, and,
We plan to catch up on some needed rest and spend some time with our families.
In December, we have shows in Lancaster, Waynesboro, Gettysburg, Etters, and York.
Despite the heavy schedule in October (or March through October), front-man Mike somehow kept the shows all high-energy for us. And the crowds' continued enthusiasm sure helped keep us pumped up! Mike & Chuck blew Dan away with some serious improvising. And you should have seen Emily's flying feet - amazing young step dancer! Marilyn joined us for several gigs and sang brilliantly. Did you know her favorite song to sing is Sweet Thing that she learned for a wedding?
Some unusual things happened these past 30-days at gigs which you may or may not have seen. One musician got lost briefly en route to a wedding gig. An unnamed fiddler broke a string and had to speed home to get a spare. An unnamed bodhran player's tipper bounced across the stage in the middle of a fast tune. And at the last gig, one unnamed musician did some crowd surfing, but the crowd had moved - ouch!
Once again we must thank everyone who comes to our shows which allows us to continue having fun sharing our music...
and making enough money so that unnamed fiddler can buy some new fiddle strings.
