Band Bio

Across the Pond - Mike Morrison, Dan Diviney, Molly Shortridge and Charles Kadyk are four  Pennsylvanians with diverse musical backgrounds.  They perform Celtic traditional and contemporary folk music, with a touch of mountain music from the Appalachians derived from the Scottish and Irish who settled there centuries ago.  They start with traditional folk music, and then have their way with it, creating their own high-energy arrangements.

They are often joined by Champion-level Irish step dancers Emily Warren, Casey Smial and/or Cierra O'Keefe.

Across the Pond has performed at many regional festivals, and they have opened concerts for Jim Malcolm (Old Blind Dogs) and Enter the Haggis.  They were named in the “Top 20 Celtic Folk bands in the world for 2014” by Marc Gunn; co-winners of the Texas Scots Talent Competition in 2015; and one track from their CD “Kid on the Mountain” was named the number one contemporary Irish song for 2015 by Celtic Radio Music Network out of Braintree, MA, and another track was nominated for best traditional tune.  Their CD "Kid on the Mountain" was entered into the Irish Traditional Music Archives in Dublin, Ireland, in July 2015.
